Before the pandemic I visited some friends and family in my old home town of South East Essex. After having some lunch with a friend who lives close to the sea I went for a walk along the sea front from Westcliff-On-Sea to Leigh-On-Sea.
Leigh is one of those small seaside towns that has a mixture of old and new shops. Old Leigh is a section where you can walk along cobbled streets and visit small shops that remind you of being a child and walking around with your grandparents.
Leigh is one of those places that still has a very strong fishing industry. It is famous for its cockle sheds. I never did like cockles, but the potent fish smell always reminds me of this place, walking along the sea front, eating sugared donuts with friends.
All photos were taking on my Pentax ME Super and Ilford HP5. I shot at 400 and developed in Ilford Microphen.
