This weekend I have finally got around to looking through the three rolls of film that I shot in August during The Chartist Cup. This was a Roller Derby tournament hosted by Riot City Ravens.
I used a roll of Rollei 400, FujiFilm 1600 and Yodica Atlas 400. It was really hard picking which photos to use in the 20 page zine and even harder to figure out which teams were in which photos! One takeaway from this experience is that I need to make some better notes about the games I am shooting when using film!
To create the zine I used Adobe Photoshop for layout, I picked which photos to use and added them along with some text to say which teams were featured in the photo along with details of my camera and film. Printing is being completed by mixam. I have never used this company before so I am hoping that the zine looks how I expect.
I should be getting the copies by November 8th according to mixam and then I will be making them available to buy via a Big Cartel store that I have created.
It is all very exciting for me and I can’t wait to see the zine and show it to people! Once they have arrived and my Big Cartel shop is live I will announce it here and everywhere else that I can so anyone interested can buy a copy. I’m starting the pricing from £2, this will cover the cost of making the zine via mixam.
